A medical endoscope is a medical instrument that can be inserted into the human body cavity and visceral cavity for direct observation and diagnosis. It includes image sensors, optical lenses, light source lighting, mechanical devices and other components. It's imaging mainly relies on the camera module of the front-end device, and this part of the module that obtains the image is generally called the endoscope camera module.
Endoscope cameras generally have an outer diameter of only a few millimeters, and they can be equipped with wide-angle lenses and telephoto lenses, which are convenient for observing objects at close distances.
A small endoscope camera module includes a sleeve, an optical lens assembly, an image sensor, a cable fixing member and a signal wire. The optical lens assembly, the image sensor and the cable fixing member are sequentially located in the sleeve, and the cable fixing member is provided with a through hole for the signal wire to pass through, and one end of the signal wire passes through the through hole and is connected to the image.
The sensor is connected, and the other end is connected to the back-end main board; the optical lens assembly and the image sensor are fixed in the sleeve by dispensing glue, and the signal line is connected to the image sensor and the back-end mainboard by welding.
Working principle
The CCD/CMOS image sensor receives the light reflected from the mucous membrane in the body cavity, converts the light into an electrical signal, and transmits the signal to the endoscope camera system through the wire. The endoscope camera system stores and processes these electrical signals, and finally transmits them to the monitor to display the color image of the inspected part on the screen.
Features of endoscope camera module
It has the advantages of long-distance image transmission and convenient back-end data processing. After assembly, it can be directly used on medical endoscopes and industrial endoscopes through the assembly.
It has the advantages of good flexibility, high resolution, easy diagnosis, and small diameter.
Application
They are suitable for industrial video endoscopes, pipe detection endoscopes, and motor vehicle inspection endoscopes. Mirror, cylinder inspection, video fishing camera, underwater camera, ENT endoscope, oral endoscope, medical endoscope, throat endoscope, etc. This product mainly has characteristics of small size, low power consumption, clear imaging effect, etc.
When choosing an endoscope camera module, the following elements are often needed to be clarified
1. Distal camera outer diameter requirements: such as 4.2mm, 3.9mm, 3.5mm, 3.1mm, or no more than 5.6mm
2. Distal camera length requirements (package length): For example, no more than 40mm, it can be customized according to actual application requirements
3. The resolution, such as 720p, 1080p, etc., involves the selection of endoscope module chips, such as OV9734, OV6948, OV6946, OV6930, etc.
4. Focusing distance: such as 5mm-100mm, 16mm-60mm
5. Viewing angle: such as 70 degrees, 100 degrees, etc.
6. Cable length: such as 2 meters or longer
7. Signal output port: such as USB2.0 or type C
8. Light source: The number of LEDs required, such as 2 LEDs, 4 LEDs, or 6 LEDs. The temperature requirements need to be considered at the same time, for example, the temperature is lower than 50 degrees under continuous operation for 10 minutes.
In addition to the above basic information, the medical camera module also needs to consider the anti-fog treatment of the lens, gamma sterilization, IP67 and other performance.
After clarifying the above 8 elements, a prototype of an endoscopic camera module can be initially designed, and CAMEMAKE can tailor the endoscopic camera module that best meets the application needs according to the needs of customers.
Customers can choose a module without an encapsulation shell, or request the module to be encapsulated in a stainless steel shell. The package length can be customized. The original signal output by the module is MIPI, or a decoder board can be added to convert the output signal into a USB signal.
